In lieu of flowers, families often request that donations to a favourite charity be made instead. Nelson Bros assists families who wish to support a charitable organisation in memory of the person who has died. How donations to charities work
How to contact the charitiesWe list many of the organisations to which our families currently donate and the mailing address, telephone number and website of these charities or foundations. If we do not have the contact details of your chosen charity, please advise us of these details so that we can accurately publish them in the funeral notice on your behalf and also so we can assist families in the future. You can e-mail us by clicking the button at the bottom of this page or call 03 8398 4333. When contacting the charitable organisation, the donors may wish to include the following information:
List of charitable organisations Listening to our familiesHaving served Victorian families since 1858, we listen to our families’ needs and what you have to say. Over years, families have told us that the manual collection of donations at the funeral is not the most appropriate time or place. It is a time of memories and reflecting upon the person who died, not of collecting money. Furthermore we encourage families to build a relationship directly with the charitable organisation of your choosing. Dealing directly with the charity means that you are dealing with a direct representative, that you can ensure that the donated money is used for your specified cause, and that security of the donations is not compromised on the day of the funeral. Nelson Bros supports you and your chosen charity in ensuring that this aspect of the funeral arrangements, as well as all others, are performed with dignity, accuracy, professionalism and care. |
